Laboratory medium and reagent

the Production Unit of culture media and organic products, the first and unique of its kind in Morocco.  
At the origin of its creation : 
the supply of certain departments of the Serum and Vaccine Center (IPM) and the national market (public and private) with ready-to-use culture media and laboratory reagents. 
The articles produced within this unit were initiated in 1989, and have undergone an important development through the establishment of the production of a range of dehydrated culture media in 1991 and then the opening, in 1993, of a specialized building for the production of culture media and ready-to-use laboratory reagents.
 

Missions and activities :

The creation of this Production Unit, therefore, had as its main objective the development at three levels :

Scientific   

the on-site production of culture media and laboratory reagents can have a stimulating effect on biotechnology research.

Economic   

local production allows foreign exchange savings. The export of part of the IPM products to certain African countries in particular is also conceivable in perspective.

Public health   

the development of medical biology in our country by the establishment of this essential logistics system.

UPMC manufactures culture media, additives and laboratory reagents used in medical biology diagnostics, in control in the agri-food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic industries and in water and environmental control. The range produced has developed over the years and is bound to be expanded in perspective. It currently has more than 60 types of products. 
The production unit is regularly upgraded to meet the requirements of good manufacturing practices. It is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. The formulations of the range of manufactured products comply with the requirements of ISO standards and European and French pharmacopoeias. 
The production unit of culture media and organic products has fully invested in a quality assurance approach.
In this context and with a view to gaining the trust of our customers, the raw materials used in the production of culture media are obtained from world-famous suppliers and must meet the requirements established by the Serum and Vaccine Center (IPM).
The manufactured products intended for sale by the sales department and for internal use, are subjected to rigorous quality control by the concerned department which carries out a sufficient number of tests to demonstrate the acceptability and conformity of each batch of product. 
Thus, all batches are delivered with a certificate of conformity attesting to their performance, which is a prerequisite for any reliable biological analysis.
