Research and Teaching
Scientific research and teaching are among the main missions of the Serum and Vaccine Center (IPM), as defined in Article 2 of Royal Decree N ° 176-6 of 14 Rabia I 1387 (June 23, 1967). By Royal decree, the Institute is responsible for conducting research on infectious and parasitic diseases in humans, animals and plants, and for contributing to the teaching of microbiology and parasitology, and for welcoming Moroccan and foreign trainees.
Since its creation, the Serum and Vaccine Center (IPM) has been engaged in themes with an impact on public health, both in communicable diseases and in non-communicable diseases. It provides research funding through a wide participation of its researchers in calls for tenders for national and international research programs.
In recent years, many results have been achieved thanks to the efforts made to strengthen human capacities through specialized training in internationally renowned research institutions.
The Center has also acquired state-of-the-art equipment for its various units and has set up laboratories in accordance with international standards. These results have been the subject of hundreds of publications in international peer-reviewed journals with high Impact Factors (IF).
The Center responds to an important need of universities in terms of teaching and supervision, researchers supervise doctoral, master's and bachelor's theses for Moroccan and foreign students from different national and international universities.
Faithful to the Pasteurian tradition, the Serum and Vaccine Center (IPM) offers specialized Pasteur courses, both nationally and internationally. He also participates in the organization of scientific events such as congresses, seminars, scientific days and workshops.
